Mexico wins 2006 CFU Youth Cup; Trinidad & Tobago finishes third
After a scoreless first half, Carlos Alberto Peña got the tricolor on the board in the 71st minute.
Saul Sandoval made it 2:0 in the 83rd minute and then Raul Nava closed out the scoring for Mexico seven minutes later.
In the third-place match at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on Sunday, goals from Stephen Knox and Ryan O’Neil in the 44th and 53rd minutes, respectively, led the host Trinidad & Tobago to a 2:0 win over Jamaica.
Haiti and Trinidad & Tobago, as the two highest placed Caribbean teams from the CFU Youth Cup, have also progressed to the 2007 CONCACAF Under-17 Final Round with the group games due to take place in April 2007.
